Blackrock Cottage to open on Monday evenings

Fans of Blackrock Cottage will be delighted to hear that the award-winning Salthill restaurant will be opening late on Monday evenings for the summer months.

The popular venue, which is located beside the iconic Blackrock Diving Tower at the end of The Promenade, will be staying open for dinner until 9.15pm each Monday.

The dinner service will start at 6pm with ‘last orders’ being taken around 9pm.

The same opening hours will be in operation on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings each week — with a variety of beautiful dishes on the menu.

“Our dinner menu has proven extremely popular with patrons since we opened at the end of 2022 and, since winning the ‘Best Restaurant in Galway’ award earlier this year, we’ve noticed even more people joining us for dinner during the week,” said General Manager, Mathieu Teulier.

“So the demand is there, I know our chefs have some brilliant menus planned, and we are looking forward to seeing more people on our terrace when the weather really improves.

“We also have an extensive wine list and a great selection of cocktails, so we’re all set for the summer! Being open for dinner on four evenings a week gives people plenty of choice as well for when they would like to make a reservation.”
Blackrock Cottage is also open on Sunday evenings until 8pm with ‘specials’ and roasts being served from 5pm until 8pm.
There is also a brunch menu served from 12.30pm on Sundays and a kids’ menu available.

“We’re just trying to create great food and a lovely ambience in the restaurant,” explained Blackrock Cottage’s head chef, Martin O’Donnell.

“We think people choose to come to the Cottage because it’s such an intimate atmosphere and the location is phenomenal. You’ve the cosy atmosphere and a quality dining experience.

“That casual feel, that homely feel of a Cottage restaurant, with the food speaking for itself.

“Mathieu, our GM, also does a terrific job with his team and, as a chef, my main focus is on the food and getting the menus right,” he added.

Blackrock Cottage has been winning rave reviews for its range of breakfast, brunch, lunch and evening dinner options. It also has an extensive wine list while cocktails and craft beers are also available, along with a range of non-alcoholic options.
The Cottage is open from 8am each morning for breakfast and serves dinner on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 6pm.
