Blackrock Cottage in Salthill is making headlines again after being named in the ‘Top 100 Restaurants in Ireland’ by The Sunday Times for the second year in a row.
General Manager, Mathieu Teulier, said he was ‘absolutely delighted’ that the Cottage had made the prestigious list again and was keen to pay tribute to the entire team that work in the restored famine-era cottage.
“John and Sally McKenna’s list of the ‘Top 100 Restaurants in Ireland’ is renowned within the industry and known far and wide as an exclusive club to be in,” added Mathieu.
“So it’s a huge honour for Blackrock Cottage to be in such illustrious company.
“The McKenna’s have come to see what we’re doing at the Cottage in the past and actually appreciated everything we’re doing, which is a true compliment.
“To be endorsed by Sally and John McKenna is massive.
“It’s a testament to the team that we’ve built, the suppliers that we use, the food that we produce, and our dedication,” he added. “The dedication of every single person in the team.
“We were named as the ‘Best Restaurant in Galway’ last year, and if you look around Galway city and county, and the quality of restaurants that are there, it’s a massive achievement to be receiving this sort of recognition.”
